THE THING ITSELF
The Universal

Immortality is a Universal Principle, not a "belief" or a bargain made with the Universe for good behavior. God knows only Life, its eternal continuity, evolution, and expansion.

Holmes says that immortality either is a principle in nature and common to all men, or it has no existence whatsoever .

"Man is born of eternal day. Not because he wills or wishes it, not because he labors or strives toward it, or because he earns it as a reward, but simply because Spirit has breathed life into him...AIl men are incarnations of God and the soul can no more be lost than God can be lost."

THE WAY IT WORKS
The Human

"Death" is a human concept, not a Divine Idea. The Essence of every human is the incarnation of God at the center of his/her being. This Essence is eternal and changeless, the Divine Spark that can no more die than God can die.

To me, immortality means the eternal continuance and self-knowingness of my individualized consciousness, forever expanding as I grow in enlightenment and the capacity to love.

However, as Holmes writes, "I cannot base my hopes of immortality on the revelation of anyone but myself..... I look upon the belief in immortality neither as a vague dream, nor as a forlorn hope, but as a proven fact. Here, within myself, is something that knows."

There is truly, within myself, an irrefutable recognition that the present experience is only one spiral of an eternal journey toward the light. Something within me simply knows that it must be so.

We believe in the eternality, the immortality,
and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny;
for we understand that the life we live is God
