Dear Della and friends from the Center for Spiritual Living Eastside,
Thank you so much for your volunteered time with last week’s Guest Chef Dinner
and organizing the volunteer group. I hope that you were able to taste some
delicious food, meet some students, and enjoy your evening. We had a very busy
night and your group was great!
FareStart’s sixteen-week job training program helps
homeless men and women make a new start on life. Through culinary and
front-of-the-house training, life skills, and case management, we see our
students make dramatic changes in their lives.
Every Thursday is different and special and this past Thursday was no
exception. I’m sure that the interaction you had with the students as
they assisted with the evening gave you a glimpse of the excitement they all
share for learning, progressing, and succeeding. It is remarkable how
much they each enjoy being around the chefs, the volunteers and the guests who
are all so positive.
From the students, staff,
and regular volunteers we thank you very much for your participation. The
donation of your time means so much to all of us. We look forward to
hopefully seeing you again for lunch or dinner at FareStart in the near future!
Sincerely,
Jen Osborn
