Annie Raitt,

beloved Practitioner at Center
for Spiritual Living Eastside, made her transition
on Friday, December
21, 2007.

Annie joined our spiritual community a year ago when she moved from Canada to join her sons, Bay and Arlo, and to make the Pacific Northwest her new home.

Annie was a joy to be around. She immediately rolled up her sleeves and pitched in wherever she was needed. She became firmly rooted in our Spiritual Community and just days before she died, was saying how much her spiritual community meant to her and how much she missed being able to attend service last week.

Annie recently joined Center for Spiritual Living Eastside's CORE Council and was coordinating locating new space for our Center's home. She always had a twinkle in her eyes and a warm hug for everyone she knew. When Annie hugged you, you knew you were being held in the arms of Spirit.

Annie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis several months ago, and when it started becoming more of a daily challenge, her sons graciously insisted mom move in with them. The room she was in used to belong to a young girl. The walls were decorated in rainbows and clouds. Annie said she would lie in bed and delight in the vision of clouds and rainbows. It was in this room that she took her last breath and died in the early morning hours of December 21.

It is with the bitter sweetness of life that we say goodbye to Annie on this physical plane, knowing that she lives in our hearts and memories, and that she, as Spirit, continues her journey of forever expanding into greater Love and Peace. We love you Annie and we will miss you. Thank you for blessing us with your Presence. Blessings on your journey. Blessings on your way back home.

And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
